A recently opened restaurant. My friends and I were passing by Meridian Road and saw a sign and went there curiously just to check to see what had opened there. It is located at the old Filling Station / Deep Pan Pizza restaurant which those who remember it, is adjacent to the Odeon Cinema. It was great to see one of the landmark buildings in Enfield open for business again. I used to go there with my parents as a youngster and eat there after watching a film. It brought back some great childhood memories, specially now as unfortunately my parents have now split up. I sat down looked at the menu and was surprised that most of the menu is based on dishes found on the tv programme 'Man v Food'. I ordered the Cajun 'Juicy Lucy' a buger I first saw on the programme 'Man v Food' and had always wanted to try it. We ordered and waited patiently and 15 minutes later was greeted with a huge platter size plate with chips the size of my wrists and a huge half pound steak burger, real American style food. The Juicy Lucy was surprisingly good, you actually tasted the real meat in the huge half pound burger. There was molten cheese oozing out of the centre of the meat pattie. You really have to take care because the cheese in the centre of the meat can be very hot. My friends and I could not finish our meals. We were brave and greedy, so decided to try out the home made desserts. I went for the chocolate brownie with ice cream. I honestly have to admit at the end of our meal we needed someone to carry us to our cars. To eat so much food for less than £15 is great value for money. So as for the Filling Station welcome back old friend it's good to be reunited again. S.Bullock
